Blepharoplasty (Eye Lift)

Also known as an "eyelid lift," blepharoplasty corrects sagging, drooping eyelids that not only make people look tired and older but may also block or reduce their peripheral vision. This procedure is among the safest and longest lasting plastic surgery procedures, making it a great investment.

Types of Blepharoplasty
Upper Blepharoplasty
Lower Blepharoplasty
Combined Upper & Lower Blepharoplasty
Blepharoplasty Applications
Drooping Eyelids / Sagging Eyelids
Wrinkles / Crows Feet
Bulging fat under the eyelids

Upper Blepharoplasty
An upper blepharoplasty treats loose skin or excess fat in the upper eyelids by removing the excess tissue, tightening the remaining muscle and tissue, and restoring the natural lid crease. When side vision is blocked because of loose skin at the corners of the eyes, blepharoplasty will restore the natural anatomy.

Lower Blepharoplasty
A lower blepharoplasty corrects sagging skin and wrinkles of the lower eyelid. It is also performed to reduce and reposition the fat which protrudes under the skin which contributes to the "tired look" of age related eye changes. Often times, this procedure can be done without any skin incisions called the "transconjuctival approach" which reduces time and recovery.

In general, blepharoplasty:

  • 2nd most common facial plastic surgery after rhinoplasty
  • Gives the upper third of the face a refreshed look
  • Is a surgery which can take as little as 45 minutes to 2 hours
  • Can be done under local or sedation anesthesia depending on case
  • Allows for nearly invisible scars
  • Is the most value in plastic surgery

Dr. Mazzara will gladly explain all of the risks and benefits of the procedure as well as the expected course and recovery in a relaxed quality consultation. Call now to make an appointment.
